20th Annual London Fiddle Convention: 19 February

efdssThere are few cities in the world with a more rich and diverse musical culture than London, and this is certainly reflected in the quality and variety of fiddling talent found here. The London Fiddle Convention has been running now for 20 years, showcasing a huge range of fiddle styles. On Sunday 19, the 20th annual London Fiddle Convention will be held at Cecil Sharp House, one of London's premier folk venues.

The convention includes a series of afternoon workshops, a fiddle contest, session in the bar, and an evening concert featuring a wide range of performers. If you are a fiddler, this event is not to miss! Of course, you do not have to be a fiddler as the concert is open to everyone; you are guaranteed a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and a great set of performances.

London Fiddle Convention Itinerary... 

Workshopsfrom 1pm – 2.20pm and 4pm -- 5.20pm

Tutors’ Concert  from 2.40pm – 3.40pm (which is open to all workshop participants).

The Fiddle Contest at 6pm. In two categories - Up to 18 and over 18. Open to all comers.

The Evening Concert begins at 8:00 PM


Performers/Tutors confirmed so far include Jyotsna Srikanth (Indian/fusion), Chris Dyer (Nyckelharpa), The English String Band, Bob Winquist (Bluegrass), Chris Haigh (jazz), Pete Cooper (English) and Karen Ryan (Irish).
