GRAMMY World Music Nominees Announced
The nominees for the fifty fourth GRAMMY awards, taking place on 12 February 2012, have recently been announced. This year's Best World Music Album nominations are dominated, as in past years, by African artists (see below). Last year's winners included Ali Farka Toure and Toumani Diabatewith 'Ali and Toumani' for Best Traditional World Music Album, and Béla Fleck with 'Throw Down Your Heart, Africa Sessions Part 2: Unreleased Tracks' for Best Contemporary World Music Album. For the 2011 awards, the world music section has been reduced to just one 'Best World Music Album' category. Who would you choose to win?
