Klezmer-ish formed whilst playing with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra - but don't be fooled by their background of rigid classical training. Their passion for exploring and pioneering exciting new areas truly shines through their new album 'Dusty Road'.
“In Klezmer-ish we draw on different repertoires from around the world for our raw ingredients and mix these with our own individual musical interests and influences, to create something new which strikes a chord with us personally and with our audience”.
'Dusty Road' sees the band freeing themselves from the rigid "shackles" of the orchestra - instead they tackle music with a colourful cultural background. Their special blend of klezmer, tango and gypsy jazz pays homage to immigrants who left their homelands for a different life; and picked up new musical influences on the way.
As their name implies, Klezmer-ish are not a traditional klezmer act. They have developed a fusion that is at once incredibly varied and bound together in the true spirit of intercultural exchange.
