New Jazz and Blues Legends mini-site

Launched in 2010, The Rough Guide To Jazz And Blues series was created with the aim of breathing new life into classic recordings and producing exceptional audio clarity. Reborn and remastered, the series features greats such as Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters and Ella Fitzgerald.

The WMN have created a brand new mini-site where you can explore the content of these albums further! Each featured legend has their own post, full of background information and loads of excellent vintage videos so you can see these musical greats in action. Although a selection of classic artists, you're bound to find some new and exciting listening (or viewing) material! One of our favourites is this moving footage of Billie Holiday singing 'Strange Fruit' - one of the first popular songs to express an anti-racist message.
