Samba Touré Selected As Indie Acoustic Project Award Finalist

The Indie Acoustic Project celebrates the best in innovative, independent acoustic music. At World Music Network we are proud to announce that Samba Touréwas selected as a finalist for the Indie Acoustic Project World Music Award. 

Indie Acoustic Project Award's mission and purpose is to generate increased awareness of indie artists and record companies by promoting and recognizing outstanding works of innovative, independently produced acoustic music from around the world, and to provide a means of helping the artists to reach a wider audience. The award categories include Acoustic Ensemble, Best Lyrics, Instrumental, Progressive Edge, Rock, Singer-Songwriter and World Music. Indie Acoustic Project's drive to uncover and give fair representation to smaller record labels and self-produced independent talent cannot be underestimated.

Samba Touré is the Malian guitarist, vocalist and composer whose African blues style invokes the spirit of the legendary Ali Farka Touré. Recorded in Bamako, 'Crocodile Blues' is Samba Touré’s second international release and a giant leap forward for the Malian bluesman.His carefully crafted compositions demonstrate his own style, through his use of a variety of colours, languages, rhythms and feelings. Many of the songs represent different ethnicities and regions, as Samba sings for peace and unity in Mali.
