A great new section providing informative and accessible introductions to music from different countries around the world. Featuring text from the Rough Guide books alongside relevant movie clips and audio playlists this section is a great resource and guide to world music. Kicking off with articles about India, Hungary and Algerian Rai this section will constantly be updated with new articles each month.
Follow the live events happening in your area – not just from Riverboat Records and Introducing artists – but from the world music community at large. If you have an event you wish to promote, please email events@worldmusic.net
A new competition for musicians and bands to post an original track and build a page with photos, text and video. Members of the public and World Music Network staff will then review and vote for their favourite music. Winners receive online sponsorship and fundraising support for a new recording and possible release on World Music Network’s artist labels.
