New video from Fatoumata Diawara

Malian singer-songwriter Fatoumata Diawara has been making waves in the world music scene over the past few months. She's pulled off stellar performances supporting both AfroCubism and Staff Benda Bililiin their London concerts, and wowed audiences with her solo set at this year's WOMAD.  

Her forthcoming album, 'Fatou', will be released 19 September (World Circuit Records). The first taster is revealed with this video for 'Bissa' - filmed in Paris and Bamako and directed by Boris Persikoff. If the vibrant vibes of this is anything to go by, 'Fatou' sounds set to be quite a debut!
